Automobile Accidents Chiropractor

Even seemingly minor auto accidents can lead to painful long-term conditions when not treated properly.  At Janovick Family Chiropractic, we use a phased approach to treating accident-related injuries that considers your short- and long-range health and is designed to:

• Quickly reduce pain
• Restore and preserve joint range of motion
• Prevent scar tissue formation
• Reduce the likelihood of long-term health complications,

    such as recurrent headaches

Some chiropractic adjustments and other manual therapies are best applied once your body has had a chance to recover from the initial trauma of an accident. That’s why our initial treatments often focus on reducing pain by decreasing inflammation and the intensity of muscle spasms. Throughout the entire treatment process we listen carefully to how your symptoms are changing to tailor our treatments accordingly. And we collaborate with you along the entire journey back to health by providing home-care techniques and general tips for restoring strength and mobility and maintaining comfort.

Whiplash is one of the most common injuries sustained in automobile accidents. It occurs during the impact of your accident when your neck is forcibly "whipped" back and forth and side to side past its normal range of motion. Whiplash affects the muscles and tissues in your back and neck. You may feel stiffness, back pain and neck pain immediately or it could take days, weeks even months for your symptoms to appear. It is crucial to treat whiplash immediately even if you are not yet experiencing neck or back pain.

Headaches and migraines can be caused by whiplash, head injuries or other types of car accident injury. Headaches may appear when your neck is damaged because the stress or strain on your neck muscles can cause pain to radiate to your head. Head injuries or trauma to your head can cause headaches and migraines. If you are experiencing headaches after your car accident, then you should get treated as soon as possible so that your headache pain does not become permanent.

A herniated disc, which is another injury that can be sustained in an auto accident, occurs when a spinal disc bulges and puts pressure on the nerves in your back. A sudden jerk from a car accident can cause a disc herniation or possibly sciatica.

Chiropractic care is an effective treatment for car accident injury.  Dr. Charles Janovick will use manual adjustments, massage therapy and corrective exercises combined with modern equipment and techniques to treat your car accident injures. General chiropractic care and a series of manual adjustments aid with pain management for whiplash, herniated discs and headaches.

By adjusting your spine and re-aligning your neck and back, we relieve the pressure from your neck, back and head. Proper alignment can also help boost the function of your immune and digestive systems by allowing your nerves to function optimally.
